We are therefore very proud to combine all plants, which are important and effective for a healthy function of our veins, in an unprecedented formula! Thereby, we have incorporated most current scientific findings in our work and present you the, according to our opinion, best vein product, which ever existed.
Reliably and without having to think about it, our legs carry us through our whole life. In doing so, our joints and muscles work hard. But also our leg veins are constantly strained during this service. Therefore, it is no surprise, that every second woman and every sixth man above 30 complains about problems with his or her veins. A blood congestion in the veins leads to heavy, swollen, and aching legs. And what starts as a discomfort only, may later become a real health threat, because in the possibly developing varicose veins, blood clots can form. Furthermore, an insufficient function of the veins can negatively impact the heart and the whole circulatory system.
But before we look at the different problem with the veins, which ultimately spare nobody, let us have a look at what veins actually do! Afterwards, we focus on the greatest challenges with the veins and how you can excellently and preventively support your healthy vein system.
As we all know, human blood vessels build a closed system. The heart is the motor and pumps the blood, which was enriched with oxygen in the lungs, in the arteries. From there, it reaches all organs and supplies the respective body cells with nutrients and oxygen. When the oxygen is used up by the cells, the blood has to return to the heart and the lung, to be enriched with oxygen again. And now the veins are stepping onto the playing field. They namely collect the low-oxygen blood, which is laden with degradation products, and transport it back to the heart against gravity. Remind you—against gravity! This is hard work! To prevent the blood on its way up against sagging back, the veins are equipped with so-called venous valves. Those are valves, which allow blood to pass only in one direction, namely towards the heart.
The problem: The walls of the veins consist mostly of differently elastic connective tissue, they are very soft. Therefore, vein walls bulge considerably more easily than the walls of the stronger arteries. But if a vein bulges too much, the venous valves cannot close correctly, thus the blood sags back towards the feet. Now a vicious circle begins: More blood accumulates, more veins bulge under the pressure, the problem intensifies. Varicose veins form, often water is discharged into the connective tissue, resulting in swollen legs or feet.
Anybody getting varicose veins should not believe them to be as harmless as wrinkles or grey hair. Varicose veins can in many cases cause painful trouble with ulcerated legs at some point in time or even result in a thrombosis. The jammed blood in the varicose veins actually facilitates the buildup of these blood clots. If those thromboses are washed away with the blood stream and get into the pulmonary circulation via the heart, a life-threatening situation may arise. The pulmonary circulation branches out to ever smaller vessels, until the blood clot gets stuck. The result is an inadequate blood supply of the lung, which can therefore absorb breathing air worse. The next result is a lack of oxygen in the blood. Large clots can lead to death within minutes, while smaller clots sometimes cause a permanent cardiac insufficiency and damages to the lungs. It is estimated, that yearly 100,000 Germans die of a pulmonary embolism.
The formation of varicose veins is still one of the unsolved mysteries of medicine. The plain answer often is: Varicose veins are a symptom of age. But this apparently applies only to highly civilized humans, because varicose veins are virtually unknown to primitive people or animals. Instead, varicose veins are typical for the western world. In Asia, for example, they are remarkably rare. Numerous studies show, that the formation of the so-called “chronic venous insufficiency”, a permanent weakness of the veins, directly corresponds to our diet and to our way of living.
Hence, we have to care, besides a healthy way of life (including lots of varied physical activity), also for the supply of important and healthy substances for our veins within our nutrition, because the connective tissue of the veins is very thin and becomes even more brittle when ageing. Certain substances can contribute to a healthy pressure inside the veins and to supporting the vein walls and therefore the elasticity of the blood vessels over the long term. Therefore, we composed a highly effective formula in Venovit, which takes into account all current studies and, at the same time, provides 3 natural substances, which have received the “plant of the year” award.
Before we look more closely at these highly effective plants, we should note that the legs do not only have a shallow vein system, lying directly beneath the skin, but also the deep vein system. It lies between the muscles of the calves and it can also develop varicose veins, which are invisible, however. But they are even more dangerous than the visible vein bulges directly beneath the skin!
By the way, hemorrhoids are in fact nothing else but varicose veins at the end of the bowel. So, veins can not only be found in the legs, but also at the end of the bowel and, in the later course (from the legs to the heart) in the abdomen. Bulging veins can be noticed by pain in the kidneys.
You see, it is highly sensible to care for our complex vein system. The earlier, the better. Therefore, Venovit offers you the crème de la crème of the natural essences, which can promote the well-being of the whole venous system. Including, as already mentioned, three plants, which were named plant of the year. Let us take a closer look at the other ingredients of Venovit:
Plant of the year 1999: buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum)! The annual plant buckwheat primarily contains the flavonoid rutin, which is suspected of generally having a positive influence on the natural liquid and oxygen exchange in the fine capillary vessels of the veins. The flavonoids and numerous minerals in buckwheat support the stability of the thin vein walls and can therefore reduce the risk of varicose veins.
Plant of the year 2002: butcher’s broom (Ruscus aculeatus)! The University of Würzburg chose butcher’s broom as plant of the year 2002, because this fascinating plant is supposed to have a sealing effect to blood vessels, which further contracts the veins and therefore protects against varicose veins.
In Italy, France, and Switzerland, butcher’s broom is long since a known therapeutic agent for vein problems—however in a much higher dosage than in a nutritional supplement. It is often used in case of vein insufficiency, like pain and heaviness in the legs, nightly cramps in the calves, itching, and swelling. Today we know, that butcher’s broom also stimulates the lymphatic transport and therefore diminishes tissue volume, i.e. reduces water in the legs. This was even proven by a study.
In a multicenter randomized double-blind study, physicians evaluated the effect of highly dosed extract of butcher’s broom with 110 women between 30 and 89 years of age with chronic venous insufficiency. The result: the volume of the calves (water in the tissue) of the patients decreased. Also the subjective feeling, like tingling or tension was relieved significantly.
By the way: The name butcher’s broom was given to the half shrub with red berries probably, because butchers put the thorny branches around their stock of meat to keep away mice. Nowadays, the butcher’s broom’s field of application is as versatile as in former times. It supports the elastin fibres of the veins, tightens the connective tissue and thereby keeps the veins elastic. Additionally, this plant of the year 2002is suspected to have an anti-inflammatory effect and to provide relief in case of hemorrhoids.
Plant of the year 2008: horse chestnut (aesculus hippocastanum). The chestnut is widely known. Aescin, a saponin, was identified as effective substance. Furthermore, the tanning agents and flavonglycosides, which are contained in this plant, are suspected to have an effect against varicose veins. Consequently, traditional medicine uses chestnut against hemorrhoids and varicose vein for centuries.
By now, 56 studies witness the great effectivity of horse chestnut seeds against vein weakness, varicose veins, and skin problems. So the chestnut relieves the corresponding impairments, but also swollen legs and feet become leaner again. The aescin, is thereby supposed to seal the blood vessels and thus prevent fluid from transgressing from the veins into the surrounding tissue. The feeling of heaviness and the edemas (water in the legs) typically associated with vein problems is supposed to decrease significantly.
The plant of the year 2008 is even reputed for forming back existing edemas. In the University Hospital of Heidelberg, 240 vein patients received 2 tablets of horse chestnut extract daily for 12 weeks. The result: The volume of the calves reduced by 43 milliliters on average! The effect is supposed to equal a treatment with compression stockings. The reduction of edemas was confirmed by the Ruhr University Bochum.
Furthermore, the horse chestnut prevents inflammatory factors from transgressing the perimeter of the vein walls and generally tightens the veins’ tissue. And also the gum tissue!
Venovit additionally contains the highly effective wine leaves (Vitis vinifera purpurea), which are harvested immediately after the grape harvest—because then their content of effective substance is the highest. Multiple studies confirm the effect of the vine leaves for vein weakness—however in a very high concentration. In particular the issue of swollen legs in the area of the calves and the ankles reduced. Obviously, this plant improves the blood stream through the veins and seals them at the same time. Scientists have proven the existence of substances in the vine leaves, which tighten the connective tissue of the vessels and reduce the permeability of the vein walls. The primary effective substances, the flavonoids and secondary phytochemicals, additionally provide an anti-inflammatory effect and prevent the blood from jamming in the veins. This in turn reduces the danger of an vein expansion (varicose veins) and functional impairments of the venous valves.
But the sensation is still to come: Our newest ingredient, the dog rose, is suspected in high doses not only to improve the function of the vein valves, but also provides for beautiful legs at the same time! How does this work? To work perfectly, our veins need space, they have to be able to take a round shape. If pressure is exerted on veins an venous valves from the outside, the valves cannot close properly and the vein is overstressed. The reason for this pressure from outside often is fatty tissue in the direct surroundings of the veins. The dog rose is suspected to prevent the formation of fat in the connective tissue. This way, the pressure is taken from the venous valves and they can work properly. But this is not all—due to less fat in the connective tissue, our legs are smoother and more supple, a very nice side effect!
As our product Venovit is a nutritional supplement, which does neither have the task nor the effect of a medication, our product does not contain the above mentioned effective substances in the dosages, which have been used during the medical studies, where the therapeutic effects were proven. However, they have earned their place in the amount they are contained in this formula.
Further traditional “vein” substances in Venovit are, amongst others, chokeberry and elderberry, Asian pennywort, beetroot, and important vein vitamins, e.g. vitamin C, which contributes to a normal collagen synthesis for a normal function of the veins and other blood vessels.
Our “vein nutrition” formula is finished with our Natura Vitalis Active Complex, which we have optimized according to current scientific studies. We recover the valuable bioflavonoids for this active complex from guava, papaya, blood orange, lemon, and grapefruit, and thereby achieve an improved effect specifically for the vein walls and venous valves. This way, our active complex amplifies the effect of the other ingredients many times over! This increased effect of all substances in Venovit makes the product so unique and popular.
So if you want light legs, it is as easy as never before with Venovit.
